From the day I came to know Jesus as my Savior, living for Christ and speaking about Him has been my ultimate purpose.

My pursuit of Him has taken me all over the United States—from New York to Liberty University to Northern Virginia and, most recently, to Florida, where I served as an intern for a local church.

It’s also led me to create this online community of believers.

I hope you gain creative inspiration through my website—recipes, workouts, makeup, and fashion. These are all God-given gifts for us to enjoy!

But please do not overlook my desire to strengthen and embolden you to live out your faith in God.

If we’ve spent time together, you know my passion for sharing authentic lifestyle content that inspires conversation about hard topics, like mental illness and spiritual responsibility.

I hope these conversations build up your knowledge of God and your joy in studying the Word.

Real, Raw Conversations Come from Knowing Jesus Deeply

You may have heard that Christians are supposed to be perfect.

You heard wrong.

Holiness—what God actually requires—and perfection are two different things.

As a recovering perfectionist myself, I would be remiss to not call this out.

Although we strive to follow the Holy Spirit where He leads, imperfection is what drives us to need Jesus as our Savior.

Imperfection is why we asked for Jesus in the first place.

That’s why I’m so passionate about the content I share. Yes, women need grocery store hacks and hairstyle ideas, but they need Jesus more.

We need Jesus to infiltrate our lives on a deeper level.

We need to know how to include Him in our daily lives—beyond just a morning Bible study.

We need to seek His presence and intercede on behalf of our sisters in Christ.

We need Jesus more than anything else.

How to Know Jesus Deeper

Do you struggle with your relationship with God?

Do you wish understanding God’s purpose for your life came easy?

On days when I am feeling spiritually dry, I go back to the basics. Here are the simple steps I follow to know God more every day.

  1. Pray

Does this seem obvious? Jesus didn’t think so.

He commanded us to pray without ceasing.

This means to be in a constant state of thanksgiving and submission to God.

Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to pray at specific times. Opt to pray in the car on the way to work instead of listening to your usual jams.

Pray while you do the dishes or sweep the house.

Use triggers to remind you to pray for family and friends. When your kids ask for their 15th snack of the day, use it as an opportunity to pray for them. When there’s nothing to eat in the pantry, praise God for His provision.

God keeps His promises, and in His Word, He says that when we seek Him, we will find Him.

You don’t have to use fancy words or make specific requests.

Just open up a conversation with God and trust that this will take you closer to Him.

2. Listen to Worship Music

Worship music transports me out of anxiety and back into the presence of God. It’s a way to become immersed in scripture musically.

Create a worship playlist to take on a hike or listen to on your way to work. If you’re struggling with your mental health, listen to specific songs on repeat to lift your spirits.

3. Attend Regular Bible Studies

Bible studies are one of the best ways to refresh yourself and get to know Jesus on a deeper level—through community. God places other Christians in our lives to encourage us. At Bible studies, you’ll learn verse by verse scripture and experience the highs and lows of life with friends to support you. I recommend Community Bible Studies Groups and Bible Study Fellowship Groups, these groups typically have online and in person options.

Christian Bible Studies by Simply Living

Jesus has changed your life and completely overwhelmed your heart.

But the Bible still feels… complicated.

You struggle to see how the Word of God impacts your daily life.

The Bible isn’t boring. Both the Old and New Testaments are changing lives every day.

But it is important to learn how to apply it.

As a graduate of Liberty University, I’ve spent hours learning Biblical studies and theology.

I’ve listened to women just like you walk through overwhelming hardship and watched the power of the Gospel completely transform their situation.

I want the next life that’s changed to be yours.

I’m breaking down all my Biblical education into digestible chunks to teach you how to apply the Bible practically in your life.

The Bible is the living, breathing Word of God—which means it’s active even now in the 21st Century. God has answers for you just waiting to be found within the pages of His Word.

I’ve designed my Bible studies to bring life into your daily Christian walk.

Let’s break through surface-level theology and dive deep into what Jesus has for us.
